This intinerary describes the overland route from Singapore through Malaysia to Bangkok.

The route is from Singapore to Bangkok. You may then choose to continue on through Cambodia to Phnom Penh and further down through Vietnam to Ho Chi Minh City. From Ho Chi Minh you can travel on to Hanoi and then into Southern China. The itineraries Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City overland and Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai overland covers the next legs of this proposed journey.
[edit] Singapore to Kuala Lumpur
- Bus (4-5 hours) or train (6-7 hours)
- Possible detours: Malacca
[edit] Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok
- Train possible (1 day, 1 night) but transfer required at either George Town (Malaysia) or Hat Yai (Bangkok). See Malaysian railways and the Thai railways timetables for details.
- Buses also available, even direct, although it's a long haul
- Possible detours: Penang, Ipoh, Phuket, Ko Samui
