North Sudan District is a region in Sudan. The capital city of Al-Shemaliah State is Dongala. The main occupation of Al Shemaliah State population is agriculture where they grow different kinds of vegetables and fruits on both banks of the Nile. Adbara is another main city in the state and known from being train junction and cross roads connecting eastern states of Sudan, Central state with the North. Shandi is a historical city, known for being the place for Al Jaleen tribe (one of the big tribe’s inhabited Sudan). New highways roads have been constructed in Shemaliah State. One of the longest was the recently build highway that connect the capital city Khartoum with Shandi, Adbara and to the east to Port Sudan (the third biggest city in the country). Lot of historical heritages of Nubah civilization and are being discovered from time to time in this State. Places like Dongala & Abuhamad are known for its ancient pyramids and historical legacy.
