North Paravur is a Thaluk in Ernakulam district in Kerala.

The old Port City Muziris is the Pattanam (Pazhnam) in Paravoor.
Paravur is basically a residential municipal town. Most of the present residents have come recently and made their houses.
The town is just about 10 to 15 km away from the industrial belt of Eloor - Binanipuram - Kalamassery. There are a number of large factories in this industrial belt and the people working in these concerns are now residing in Paravur.
Apart from the above a number teachers working in the many schools and colleges in and around Paravur also have made Paravur their base.

Kochi International AirPort is 15 km from Paravur. Nearest Railway Station is Aluva 16 km away from here. Cherai beach is just 4 km away from paravoor town. Keralas famous temple Dakshina mookambika is staying in the heart of north paravoor town.

- Mookambika Temple, the Saraswathi Temple built in the middle of a pond.Peruvaram mahadeva temple is one of the oldest temple situated in paravur,kannan kulangara temple,thonniyakavu temple,kaali kulangara temple,velutattu vadakkan chowa temple,kottakakam temple,etc are the major temples in north paravur.

Cherai Beach is only 5 km from here. Cheari beach is a wonderful place to be. You can have boat ride in the lakes near beach. Can have bath as well as sun bathe.
Your itenary would depend on your interest. In case you are interested in exploring history visit the temples ( peruvaram shiva temple, Mookambika temple(Godess of learning),Mannam Subramanya temple, Kannankulangara krishna temple) Jew Synagogue, Churches ( jacobite syrian church, St thomas church etc) etc. Take an auto and you can complete the entire trip in half a day. Remmber all these places especially temples open early morning (5 am), close by 11 and then re open from 5 to 8 pm. If you are a foreigner there would be certain areas where you are not allowed the entry.
From paravoor you can also travel to Cheraman Mosque ( the first islamic mosque in India), Ancient musris port ( now known as kottapuram), Thiruvanchikkulam mahadeva temple ( now protected by ASI), kizhthali shiva temple, shringapuram temple, kodungallur Bhadrakali temple & have a ride in the lake in a country boat.
Other places of interest around paravoor are Chendamangalam ( home to paliyath family, who occupied high places in the ancient cochin kingdom, Alangad ( Again famous shiva temple), Kalady ( birth place of shankaracharya), Aluva Manalpuram ( famous for shivarathri festivel) etc.

Sea Food, hotel white city and ceecee is the 2 three star hotels in the north paravoor. in the evening kappa and meat is the favorite food of people in the north paravoor.

Local"Kallu" the toddy.KARIMEEN CURRY,KAPPA,MURINGA,KAKKA,NJANDU,etc are main foods.
