Nea Anchialos (Greek: Νέα Αγχίαλος) is a seashore city situated 18 km southeast of Volos, situated in Thessaly, almost in the middle of the distance between Athens (305 km) and Thessaloniki (230 km).

Nea Anchialos, unlike other towns in Thessalian plain, enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with can-be-hot-but-bearable summers (though a little bit humid) and mild winters. Spring and autumn are the best to visit the city itself, winter is the time to be on the Pelion mountain villages, and summer is definitely dedicated to the numerous beaches on the subberbs of Nea Anchialos.

From abroad, Nea Anchialos is connected with regular and charter flights. The Nea Anchialos - Volos Airport (VOL) [2] is the main attraction of tourists and most important transportation hub in central Greece.

The completion of the new terminal 9.000 m² in September 2010, gave impetus to the further development of the airport and now Volos has one of the most modern regional airports in Greece. The airport is located at 18,5 Klm from Nea Anchialos and 36 km from the city of Volos.

For 2011, Air Berlin connects Nea Anchialos and Volos with Nuremberg. Ryanair with Frankfurt (Hahn) - Milan (Bergamo)and Brussels. Lauda Air on middle May 2011 operates flights to Vienna
