Navarre Beach[1] is a resort community in the Florida Panhandle, on Santa Rosa Island.

Via car[edit]

Primary access to Navarre Beach is by private vehicle. It is located on Highway 87.


Get around[edit]

Navarre Beach does not offer public transit suited to tourism. The best option is to bring or rent a private car.

The beach, with its distinctive emerald green water, earning it the nickname of the Emerald Coast. Navarre's enormous stretch of beach is spectacular, with some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world.

Beaches[edit]

Navarre is famous for its sugar white sand beach and emerald green water. There are over a dozen public beaches with parking boardwalks across the dunes.

Golf[edit]

Golfers will enjoy the area championship courses, Hidden Creek and The Moors being two of the most popular.

Navarre is devoid of large, sit-down chain restaurants, (like Friday's) but offers many small restaurants. All are casual.


Italian: Vinnie R's authentic italian cuisine. Located on the western edge of Navarre just off 98.

American: Kazbor's: A small sports bar with good food and a fun atmosphere. Located in the Publix Plaza. Johnny Houston's: Another small sports bar with tasty food. Located near the east entrance to Holley by the Sea on 98 TC's front porch is an open air restaurant with a selection of po'boys and various fried seafood platters. Located at the base of the Navarre beach bridge, north side of 98

Chinese: Peking House. Take out chinese food. located in Publix Plaza

Sandwiches: American Heroes offers delicious custom made subs. Located just west of the Navare beach bridge, just west of TC's Firehouse subs provides their normal fare. Located in Publix Plaza

Breakfast: Sugar Loaf Cafe - Fantastic Breakfasts and hearty lunches. Off 87, just north of 98. Sailor's Grill and Bakery - Best sticky buns you can get on the gulf coast. Good omelets, Good Pizza. Located on the island.

Pizza: Dominoes Papa John's Hungry Howies New York Pizza Depot Located on 98, opposite publix plaza.

Seafood: Cocodrie's Located on the Island Slippery Mermaid (Sushi) Located on 98 next to the Sea shell store

Barbecue: East River Smoke House on 87 north of 98

Mexican: Acapulco: Located on 98 just east of walmart El Patron: Located on 98 just west of publix plaza

Cajun: Bayou Bob's on 98 in the strip mall with Winn Dixie.

Fast food:

McDonalds. Two locations. Burger King. Taco Bell KFC

  • Navarre Beach Rentals, 1816 Alpine Av., Navarre, 866-836-1312, [2], A variety of beachfront accommodations including private homes, condos, and town homes.

Get out[edit]

  • Ft. Pickens [3], part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore, is a nature preserve and a civil war-era fort and museum. Activities include fishing, camping, historical research, and tours. A 7-day pass is $8, and covers a private vehicle and all passengers. It's located on the far west end of Santa Rosa Island, about 45 minutes west on Highway 98, then take the CR-399 bridge south at Gulf Breeze, then follow CR-399 right.
  • Panama City Beach is an area more targeted to the younger crowd. It is a popular spring break destination. Head east on Highway 98 about an hour.
