Namakkal is a small historic city in Tamil Nadu in Southern India.

Get in[edit]

Naamakkal is 55 KM from Salem on the Salem-Madurai highway. There are buses almost every minute from Salem to Naamakkal.

There are frequent buses from Erode also.

Get around[edit]

Naamakkal is very famous for Lorry Body Building & Egg Production.


Namakkal is famous for the large Anjaneya statue temple. Just near the Anjaneya temple there is the Narasimha Swamy Temple. Another place to visit is the Namakkal Fort which provides a good view of the town. To spend a nice evening time you have a wonderful park near the fort.It is a nice place to spend with friends and family and specially for kids with lots of games and food stalls.
