Myoko is located on the JR Shinetsu Line. The station name is Myokokogen, which was taken from the former city of Myokokogen. Myokokogen merged with Arai City and Myoko Village in 2005 to form what is presently known as "Myoko".

Myoko can be reached from Tokyo by taking the Nagano Shinkansen to the final stop of Nagano, then changing to the Shinetsu Line local. The trip time averages to 2 3/4 hours at a cost of ¥8900.

From western Japan, take the Wide View Shinano limited express from Nagoya to Nagano and transfer to the Shinetsu Line (4 1/4 hours from Nagoya, ¥7760).

These trips are free with the Japan Rail Pass.
