Mundau

Mundau is a beach village in western Ceará. Still chiefly a traditional fishing village, tourism is slowly eating in. Always a step behind neighbouring Flecheiras, this is the place to go for absolute calm.

Some 140 km from Fortaleza are covered in about 2 hours by car. A handful of daily buses by Paraipaba will cost you double the time.

Goods and services are rather scarce, but most essentials can be found in Trairi, 17 km inland.

You can rent a buggy and drive along the beaches. To go further west you need to cross the river by a tiny ferry.
