The village is bisected by the Cook County Forest Preserves [1] and the North Branch Bike Path [2]. Other recreational opportunities include Chick Evans Golf Course and several riding stables, as well as cross-country skiing in Harms Woods and Linne Woods.

  • Pequods Pizzeria, 8520 Fernald Ave (Intersection of Lincoln and Fernald), ☎ (847) 470-9161, [3]. The best deep dish pizza in Chicago. (Much better than Lou Malnati's or Giordano's). Eclectic antiques decorate the store. Moderate selection of beers. Really nice waitresses. Pretty cheap, at under $10 per person.  edit
