Miyagi prefecture (宮城県 Miyagi-ken) is in the northeastern Tohoku region of the main Japanese island Honshu.

• Site of Aoba-jo Castle — once the stronghold of the much feared and revered Date Masamune, Lord of Sendai, all that remains are his statue and a Shinto shrine.
