Mewar is in India.

The former princely state of Mewar with its capital of Udaipur is situated in the South of Rajasthan bordering Gujerat and Madhya Pradesh.

The people of Mewar largely speak Mewari, a dialect of Hindi belonging to the Rajasthani dialects. Tribal people living in this region speak Bhil while the people in the South-eastern portion of Mewar speak Malvi, already belonging to the Western dialects and quite distinct from Mewari.

The main city of Mewar is Udaipur. It is connected to Delhi and Mumbai as well as to Jaipur and Jaisalmer by flight and to all major cities in North India by bus. The daily Mewar Express train also connects Udaipur with Delhi.

Buses connect nearly all major and minor places with Udaipur. Several trains connect Udaipur and Chittorgarh. Hiring a car with a driver can be a good option if you have less time and still want to see different places.
