Some suburbs in the north have a notorious reputation for crime. You should be careful of your belongings, and avoid travel during the night. There should be not many issues during the day. Caution should be exerted in the outer Northern suburbs, such as Broadmeadows, Campbellfield, Coolaroo, Craigieburn, Dallas, Epping, Jacana, Lalor, Meadow Heights, Roxburgh Park, Thomastown and Westmeadows but there is liitle for the tourist to do or see in this part of town so it shouldn't cause a problem at all.
