McClellan is in California, USA and sits right next to the city of Sacramento.

Get in[edit]

Get around[edit]

  • Sutter's Fort State Historic Park, [1]. This is a must see site while in the Sacramento area.
  • Basketball, [2]. Come be a King's fan for the day and enjoy some basketball with the Sacramento Kings.

McClellan itself is a converted Air Force base now mostly used for civilian applications, and still boasts an active airport. One of the major attractions is the Air Museum which boasts a very nice collection of aircraft on Static Display. Hours vary by volunteer availibility so call to verify if your visiting.

While McClellans Base Exchange and Comissary (sp?) are open to Military families they are not open to the public. However the Coffee shop and gas station are civilian run and are open to all.

A small coffee and tea shop is across the street from the Base Exchange, and the Lions Gate Hotel has what is described as very good food for a bit on the pricy side. Anyone have input on this? Outside the base are all the foods you expect and a large assortment of fast food and dining establishments along Watt Ave.

  • Lions Gate Hotel, [3]. An ideal location for any business retreat, wedding, convention, or romantic getaway.

Get out[edit]

  • Sacramento. It nearly impossible to visit McClellan and not head into nearby Sacramento.
