- Inter-Mountain Fair, 44218 A St, (530) 336-5695. A nice fair that is completely old-fashioned, complete with farm animal contests, rodeos, parades, and even a scholarship program.

- Ahjumawi Lava Springs SP - Uncrowded caving and boating are unrivaled here in this part of the country. This is a pristine wilderness area, so if you try something as trite as taking a rock with you, you will be busted by the feds. This has its advantages, however, as the place is so prehistoric-looking, you will be expecting dinosaurs. It is located northwest of McArthur, and you have to have a boat to access it.
