Maasin City is a city in Eastern Visayas and the capital of Southern Leyte. It is located at the southern tip of Leyte island.

By plane[edit]

Although, Panan-awan Airport is within the city limit, the airport is not yet fully functional. The runway for now can accommodate CESSNA plane landings; the runway is currently being upgraded and a Terminal will soon be constructed.

By boat[edit]

Direct to Maasin Boats/Ferries: Cokaliong from Cebu every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. Weesam Express daily trips departing from Cebu at 6 am.

There are nightly trips also from neighboring Municipalities of Bato, Hilongos and Baybay.

By bus[edit]

There is direct bus trips from Manila at the Ali Mall terminal in Cubao, Quezon City and Pasay City. Coming from Mindanao cities such Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga and etcetera, travelers should drop at Silago Ferry terminal in Silago, Southern Leyte and connect by bus to Maasin City. There is bus connection between Maasin City and Ormoc City.

There are vans-for-hire serving the route of Maasin City and its neighboring Municipalities as far as Samar, Tacloban and Ormoc.
