From Wikitravel

Los Andes is a town located about 80 km north of Santiago in central Chile. Beautiful nevados dot the horizon and the vineyards in the area makes for scenic daytrips. Av. Chacabuco sees a lot of heavy traffic, as trucks heading for from Santiago to Argentina pass through here, but the noise is escaped in the parks and sourroundings of this tranquil place.
