There are two reasons to come to Long Island:
- You're an Indian tourist and want to stay at the government resthouse on Lalaji Bay and enjoy the beach.
- You're a foreign tourist and you've come here to avoid Lalaji Bay and the rest of the world and camp in complete seclusion with a small group of friends.

[edit] Lodging
There is one government resthouse on Lalaji Bay which must be booked in Port Blair. Don't show up without a booking as you will likely be turned away, and other options don't really exist.
[edit] Camping
Other than a few tourists at Lalaji Bay the real reason to come here is for secluded self-sufficience... you must bring all of your own gear and food and cook for yourself. The government changes its mind regularly about whether or not you can camp here... but it's possible to do it either way.
