Lochranza is a town on the Isle of Arran.

  • Bus route (both SW and the much more intriguing Postbus (rural bus service in Scotland run by the Royal Mail) -- catch the right Postbus and you'll get to pick up baked goods heading south...)

  • Deer comes down to the water most evenings
  • Ruined castle - Believed to be a 16th Century reconstruction of an earlier building. It is currently under restoration until 2008, though it is still accessible. A key may be available from the convenience store

  • 18 Hole Golf Course - Normally open from April until mid October each year

  • Rock men of Arran - Fantastic little shop placed on the side of the hill on the East coast of the Bay. Quite a long but interesting walk from the main part of the village, you are likely to meet sheep and maybe deer on the way.

  • One Pub - closer to the pier
  • Whisky Distillery - Open March to October. Includes visitors centre, nice restaurant and shop

  • Youth Hostel - Scottish Youth Hostel Association. Spartan but friendly, with helpful managers and very good kitchen.
