Litvínov is a small city in Northwest Bohemia, right at the foothills of Krusne hory (English: Ore mountains) and less than 20km far away from the border with Saxony, Germany

It is possible to reach Litvinov city by multiple roads. Road number 27 leads to Most, and then it heads towards the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague.

Litvinov can be reached by train as well, however, be aware that there are two train stations within the city limits:
- The first one is Litvinov, which is closer to the center and can be reached by city mass transportation system;
- The second one, Litvinov mesto, is on the outskirts of the city. It is still within walkable distance from the center.

There are daily bus services to smaller cities in the same region as well as those services connecting the city with Prague (regular one-way fare is around 104 CZK).

Unfortunately, the city became recently known for its suburb called Janov. It is advised to avoid going to this area in the evening since there is a reasonably high chance that you may be robbed.
