Lipetsk Oblast is a region in Russia's Don-Voronezh Region, which borders Kursk Oblast to the southwest, Oryol Oblast to the west, Tula Oblast to the northwest, Ryazan Oblast to the northeast, Tambov Oblast to the east, and Voronezh Oblast to the south.

• Lipetsk — an old city, first gaining notoriety for being destroyed by the Mongols, that will satisfy visitors looking to get out of Moscow to see some of the "real Russia"
• Lebedyan — a small town with significant literary history: novelists Andrei Bely and Mikhail Bulgakov both lived here, while the great Soviet dystopian science fiction writer Yevgeny Zamyatin was born here; the town is also endowed with two cathedrals
• Yelets — the region's second city and one of the oldest cities of the Black Earth region is an attractive place, on the banks of the Sosna River, and dominated by the massive Cathedral of the Ascension
• Zadon — a small town on the Don River, home to the Zadonsky Bogoroditsky Monastery, the grave of Saint Tikhon, and the nearby Tikhonovskaya Convent of the Transfiguration
