Valtice Palace Lednice-Valtice is in South Moravia, Czech Republic. It married Baroque architecture (mainly the work of Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach) and the classical and neo-Gothic style of the castles of Lednice and Valtice with countryside fashioned according to English romantic principles of landscape architecture. At 200 sq. km, it is one of the largest artificial landscapes in Europe. The village centre is about 10 mins walk from the station, and there is a big map showing the area once you get down there. There are also buses roughly every 30 minutes from near Břeclav station to both towns. The fare is very cheap one way - Kč20. The area is easy to visit for day trip from Brno, Vienna or Bratislava. Sometimes Engish is not spoken very well, depending on who is working that day. There are buses that run between the two towns. The fare will be about Kč16 one way. The area would be great to visit on bicycle, but there are no places nearby to hire one.
