Lake Ouachita is located in central Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountains. It is a 42,000 acre man made pristine lake that offers many amenities for the everyday traveler. It is owned by the United States Corp. of Engineers. Therefore there is not any privately owned housing located on the shoreline. This makes for a private area to fish, camp, boat and play. Located at the East end of Lake Ouachita is a wonderful little area away from it all called Secluded Woods Ranch. A weeks stay at this little cabin is a welcome relief from the hussle and bussle of the real world. After a week here fishing with a private guide is just what the family needed. Our guide, Tom Ohel, was outstanding. The lake was so beautiful and relaxing. I had not caught a fish in my life over 4oz. and did not believe that I could catch a fish since mine was actually a minnow. This gentleman taught us how to catch a 54lb striper! If you have not seen Lake ouachita, you have to go today. Just pack up and start driving! It is 20 miles North of Hot Springs in the Ouachita National Forest. It was the greatest time my family has ever had!
