Lake Hopatcong is full of fun in not only summer, but all seasons. There is year round fishing. When the lake freezes over people love to go ice fishing, ice skating and many carve out an area to play hockey. Summer is the prime time to come visit this beautiful place. The lake is busy with boats, sailboats, jet-skis, wave runners and Chriscrafts galore. One of the many hot spots on the lake is Byram Cove. A lot of boats come to this cove to hang out, anchor their boat and tie up to other boats and meet friends. Throughout the lake you will see people tubing, wake-boarding and waterskiing. If you're looking for a good place to do this Henderson Bay is one of the most perfect places on the lake for this.
Off the water there are plenty of things to do also. Something fun to do is catch something to eat over at Alice's or the Windless and stop to play a quick game of Miniature Golf. The course resembles much of Lake Hopatcong's history. The owners have made it so there are models of historical structures such as the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club and a steam ship. Buildings that have fallen, or that are still standing have structures scattered throughout the course. Throughout the club there are panels telling about the history of various parts of the lake.
After a long day of boating, or if you wanna get something to eat to continue your fun there are many great restaurants all around the lake that are boat and car accessible. If you're a visiter, or have a house on or off the lake all these restaurants are worth checking out.
