  • Walk around the old city-center. Take a walk around the old city-center (Phuong Doan Ket) and its market-area (Cho Doan Ket), and be prepared of being the main attraction for all the locals, as there won't be any other foreigners around - great fun!  edit
  • Rent a motobike. It's hardly impossible to find someone who is renting motorbikes in Lai Chau, as - due to the lack of tourists - there is no need to run such a service. Anyway you can try your luck at the Karaoke-Bar at '2 Tran Phu' or at the small store, which looks like a parking spot at the corner of Tran Hung Dao and Ho Thuc Khang. Prices vary between 100k-200k VND/day.  edit
