LaFayette (Georgia)

LaFayette is a small town in north west Georgia, near Chattanooga, Tennessee.

LaFayette is well connected with two major airports,Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport is just 30 miles away which is well connected to major cities and Atlanta is a major port of entry in US which is around 70 miles away.Paid taxi is available form Atlanta and Chattanooga airports. Also there is a bus service available form Chattanooga airport to LaFayette square which is run by Walker County. LaFayette is well connected by road through Highway I-24. If you are living in a nearby state car is the best way for traveling.

You definately need a car to move around in this city.There is no public transport. There are few pedestrian path in downtown.

  • Twins Pizza is a local pizza spot that has some of the best pizza in the area.

Surprisingly there are lots of eating places in this small town, day time population is high because of GE and Shaw factories are located here. You can find common fast food joints like McDonald, Windy, Taco bell, There is also a nice Mexican restaurant on I24. For pizza lovers there is Papa Jones and Pizza hut.

Lafayette comes under Walker County which is dry. It is illegal to sell and serve liquor. Beer is widely available in Gas stations and stores. (Beer is not sold on Sundays). You need to travel to Chattanooga to buy liquor
