Khuzestan is one of 30 provinces in Iran. Taxis are cheap and probably the best way to get around the city. The heat is really infernal. In August it reaches more that 50 degrees which, believe me is rather hot! Not really possible to walk in the streets at peak hours as there is no way one can resist. Susa : Go to Shush(Susa) area visiting Chogha-Zanbil zigurat,Achamenian Palace,Susa museum and castle,Daniel temple,Haft-Teppeh(1500 BC) in half/full day Shustar : In Shushtar city visiting amazing 2000-year-old water structures like as Sika watermills,dams, bridges and tunnels,also olden town ( bazaar,houses,castle,...) Ayapir : Discover Bakhtiari's land on the beautiful slopes of Zagros mountains, visiting ancient Elamite sites of Tarisha temple and KoolFarah alog with nomads and villages in Izeh,Baghmalek and Haftguel See Shevi waterfall in Dezful Itineraries Do Nice ice cream parlour near to the bazar heading towards the river. There is a cake shop above and is located in the cellar. Eat Iran hotel has a reasonable restaurant where u can dine with confort and AC. Not bad too stay either. Prices are good, but, make sure u get a room on the fourth or fight floor as floods 3 and 2 are almost in ruins. The majority of the rooms have Asían latrine, so be prepared to bend your knees. Staff speak little or no english. Drink Stay safe In Ahwaz everyone is keen to help you, but english is not widely spoken. There r no europeans so people do tend to notice you.
