Khorasan is a region in the north-east of Iran. Previously a single province, it was split into three in 2004.

• North Khorasan - comprising 6 counties:- Bojnourd; Esfarayen; Jajarm; Maneh; Samlaghan; Shirvan.

• Razavi Khorasan (in the centre, inbetween North Khorasan and South Khorasan) - comprising 20 counties:- Bardaskan; Boshrooyeh; Chenaran; Dargaz; Fariman; Ferdows; Ghayen; Ghouchan; Gonabad; Khaf; Kalat; Kashmar; Khalil Abad; Mashhad; Neyshabour; Rashtkhar; Sabzevar; Sarakhs; Torbat-e Jam; Taybad.

• South Khorasan - comprising 7 counties:- Birjand; Darmian; Ferdows, Nehbandan; Qaen; Sarayan; Sarbisheh.
