Kazakh phrasebook

Kazakh (also named Qazaq; Qazaq tili, Қазақ тілі in Kazakh) is the national language of Kazakhstan, it belongs to the group of Turkic languages on a par with Kyrgyz, Turkish, Uzbek, etc. Within the Turkic group the most closely related languages are Bashkir, Karakalpak, Kyrgyz, Nogai, and Tatar.

Pronunciation guide[edit]

Modern Kazakh language uses Cyrillic alphabet. It follows phonemic writing which means every letter is pronounced as a separate sound. Stress is always put on the last syllable of a word with exception of some loanwords.
