Kaprun, part of the region Zell am See-Kaprun, is located in Pinzgau in Salzburg. Special for the village is the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. You can ski there nearly the whole year. The second landmark of the town is the Burg Kaprun, which is nowadays used for cultural events.

Kitzsteinhorn: Near Kaprun, there are many remarkable mountain railways. One of them is Glaial Aerial Tramway Kaprun III, the third section of the aerial tramway up to Kitzsteinhorn mountain. It runs over a 113.6 metre tall support pillar , which is the tallest support pillar of all aerial tramways in the world!
