Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park is located on the Kona coast of the island of Hawai'i. The purpose of the park is to preserve, interpret, and perpetuate traditional native Hawaiian activities, values, and culture, and to demonstrate historic land use patterns. The park is still under development.

The park contains hundreds of archeological features. The most obvious are the three ancient fish ponds:

Ala Kahakai

• Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail is a 175 mile long historic trail that covers most of the circumferance of the island of Hawai'i. While most of it is not currently available to the public, about 2.3 km of the trail is available for hiking within Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park. Trail Guide.
