Kaiapoi

Kaiapoi is a town in North Canterbury, on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Lying just north of Christchurch, north of the Waimakariri River, the town is both a commuter suburb of its nearby city neighbour and its own separate community.

On State Highway 1, the urban motorway north of Christchurch bypasses just to the west of Kaiapoi. Access to town from the north is from the turnoff just before entering the motorway, otherwise one must travel past town to the next exit and come back from the south. From Christchurch, there are several exits, as most traffic is Christchurch bound.
