Kızkalesi is in Cilician Mountains.

Kızkalesi is a town in Mersin province, popular with Turkish tourists. A great refuge away from the droves of Western tourists in Lycia and Pamphylia, Kızkalesi can be an excellent place to experience real Turkey and interact with local travelers on their own holidays. Two large castles, one offshore of the main beach, are the main attractions here, with plenty of opportunity to explore sights in the surrounding towns and countryside.

Frequent minibuses run from Adana and Mersin, stopping along the main road.

Kızkalesi is a very small place, with any destination being within walking distance.

Maiden's Castle - A castle built on a small island just offshore of Kızkalesi. Built during the time of the Crusades and frequently captured and repaired by invading armies, the castle is in excellent condition and offers great views of Kızkalesi. 5TL. To get to the castle, rent a paddle boat outside the Adana Cafe, or catch a passenger boat from the bluffs east of the the main beach.

Sun loungers can be rented at the beach for 10TL, although they might try to charge you more.

Get a tattoo at one of the many shops lining the streets leading from the beach.

Catch a minibus to Narlıkuyu to view the Heaven and Hell Caves. Frequent minibuses run west to Silifke and east to Mersin.
