Jounieh is a city in Lebanon. It is closely associate with Beirut, the capital.

Get in[edit]

From Beirut take bus No. 6 which starts from Cola, costs 1500 LBP and takes you to the beginning of the Jounieh central main street. Alternatively you can take any bus from Dora that goes up north to Byblos or Tripolis and get off on the highway (tell the driver to drop you in Jounieh). Walking about 1 km downhill to the sea should take you to the town center.

You can walk and do loads of stuff in Jounieh. Ride a bicycle and get around . Drive cars. You can also use buses .

There is a huge beach waiting for you with glistening water from the Mediterranean Sea.

Jounieh is the night life HUB of Beirut. You can do anything at night ranging from visiting the city's several restaurants ranging from italian to japanese cuisine or just sitting at a coffee shop to relax and have some narguileh or visiting the bars and clubs at around 11pm and up. However, the must visit attraction is the telefreq and the Harissa above. The telefreq (ropeway) entrance looks more like a shopping complex and charges 9000 LBP per person for both directions on a week day. The view from the top during your ascend is breathtaking and view from the statue of Lady of Lebanon is a visual treat. There are some cafes above in Harissa.

Have some delicious falafel or some yummy pita bread and hummus. And if you are on a diet , a quick tabbouleh is good for you.

Water is safe to drink and you can also have coffee which tastes amazing.

You can sleep soundly in jounieh whenever you like .
