Drive It is possible to go by shared jeep from Jomson to Muktinath via Eklabhati and Kagbeni and Jharkot. During the dry season this will take you around one to two hours. During the monsoon you might have to take a jeep as far as it can go and then cross rivers or landslides on foot before getting on another vehicle at the other side.
Walk Follow the river upstream past the army camp on the paved street leading away from the hotel strip in Jomsom. Cross the second suspension bridge and then turn left following the street until it leaves town and becomes a jeep track. You will see the track following the cliff face of the Kali Gandaki and you can follow it simply all the way to Eklabhati where there are four hotels with attached restaurants. During the monsoon you might have to wade through a small river just before arriving here and in the dry season you might be able to cut a few corners through the riverbed of the Kali Gandaki. Just follow the locals! At Eklebhati you have the choice of either following the road further to Kagbeni or alternatively taking the track that leads steeply uphill at the back of the village and going directly towards Jharkot and Muktinath.
