Jahrah, also called Al Jahra, is a city in western Kuwait at a distance of about 33km from the capital, Kuwait City.

Get in[edit]

One can take Shaikh Jaber Ahmed Al Sabah Road (80) to Kuwait City from Iraq. This road passes Jahra. The nearest airport is Kuwait International Airport.

Get around[edit]

Taxis is the main form of transport if you did not have a car (See Kuwait for more info). Buses are far more uncommon compared to other parts of Kuwait.


  • Jahra Fort. It is a must see attraction in Jahrah. In 1920, The Saudis were defeated by Kuwaitis with the help of the British here.  edit


Not much can be done in Jahra as it is close to the desert. Camel riding is common.

  • Entertainment City, Doha,Kuwait. Near Jahrah. It is a fun park.  edit


Jahra lacks the malls that the rest of Kuwait is saturated with.

Small Arabic restaurants are common like other parts of Kuwait selling shawarma. Indian restaurants are common too.


Alcohol is not allowed in Kuwait.


Hotels are situated away from important areas.
