Ivano-Frankivsk (formerly Stanislawow, German: Stanislau) is a city in the Ukrainian part of East Galicia.

By Plane:
Ivano-Frankivsk has its own international airport, which is however relatively small. The biggest airport nearby is in Lviv.
By Train:
You can get to Ivano-Frankivsk by train from Lviv (where you can connect to Belarussia and Poland) or Chernivtsi (where you can connect to Romania).

The Carpathians are nearby as well as the town Kolomyia and Yaremche. The city of Lviv is not far either.
