Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.

By plane[edit]

The nearest airport is in Lilabari in Assam, which is nearly 67 km away. This airport is well connected by flights from Guwahati. Pawan Hans provides helicopter facility between Itanagar and Guwahati, thrice a week.

By bus[edit]

Overnight super express buses connect Itanagar with Guwahati and takes about 12 hours. Arunachal State Transport buses connect Itanagar with other North East cities in India.

By train[edit]

Harmuti in Assam, about 33 km away, is the nearest railhead on the main railway line. Harmuti is well connected with Indian railways network. A single railway track connects the state capital Itanagar with Harmuti. Trains are available from Itanagar railway station (name Naharlagun, station code NHLN) to New Delhi, Tezpur and Guwahati. Taxi service from Harmuti railway station to Itanagar costs Rs.500-600.
