Restored 19th-century neoclassical homes in Athens' historical Pláka district

Author: Skyduster

[edit] Summary

Pláka is one of Athens' historical districts located in the city center. Visitors today are able to walk along narrow streets, many of them pedestrianized, while gazing at the neoclassical architecture of handsome 19th century homes. Most of the city's central historical areas were wonderfully restored only within the past 15 years, after decades of urban neglect.
