Hunsur is a town in Mysore district.

Get in[edit]

By Bus[edit]

There are bus service regularly available from city of Mysuru (Mysore) to Hunsur. The bus service are provided by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation popularly known by its acronym KSRTC.Also there are buses from Madikeri and Mangalore ( Mangaluru).

By car[edit]

The road within Nagarhole National Park until 15km outside Hunsur is in bad shape. Avoid on two or three wheeler. Hunsur to Mysore road is better, with multiple lanes allowing traffic up to 100kmph.

By Air[edit]

The nearest airport is at Mysuru.

Get around[edit]

  • Tibetan camp Gurupura - Tibetan refugees start living in 1972. This refugee settlement is just 12Km from Hunsur town and also on a way to Nagarhole National Park.
  • Big Banyan tree


Visit Nagarhole National Park to see wild animals like Elephants, Tiger, Leopard, Gaur (Kati or Kadave ).



If you would like to try Tibetan food, you can visit Tibetan Refugee Camp - 12Km from Hunsur town.



There are few lodges which provide bed and room to sleep at Hunsur town. There are few resorts near to periphery of Nagarahole National Park.
