Huedin

From Wikitravel

Jump to: navigation, search

Huedin is a town in Transylvania, Romania, 46 km west of Cluj-Napoca. It is the gateway to the Apuseni Mountains region, which is fast becoming one of Romania's agrotourism and ecotourism hotspots. The town itself is fairly bland, even though there is a good country-style market, especially on weekends.

[edit] By train

Train is the easiest way to access Huedin. All "Personal" (rural) trains stop at Huedin, as well as the majority of "Accelerat" (semi-fast) and "Rapid" (fast) trains. There are relatively frequent and convenient trains from Cluj-Napoca and Oradea, as well as one train per day from Bucharest.
