Homewood-Flossmoor is a set of Illinois cities in Chicagoland. They share the same page due to their close proximity, and the fact that they share a high school, as well as a park district.
To reach Homewood-Flossmoor from the city of Chicago, you can take the Metra Electric line. Get on the train at Millenium Station in downtown Chicago, and you can get off at either the Homewood or Flossmoor station. You could also take I-94, merge onto I-57, then exit at 159th street. All you have to do then, is go east until Kedzie Ave. Turn right Kedzie, and take it all the way into Homewood.
Apollo Park, Morgan St & Bowling Green Dr. Daily open 8am to dusk. Apollo Park features a playground, a dog park, and forest walking paths for people of all ages to enjoy. On Saturdays, you can also enjoy recreational soccer games from the Homewood-Flossmoor Soccer Club. Apollo Park also has a baseball diamond, as well as a couple football fields.
Izaak Walton Forest Preserve, 1100 Ridge Rd. Open from dawn until dusk. 193 acres of lakes, ancient sand dunes, woodlands, wetlands and native prairie. The preserve features many walking trails, picnic spots, as well as fishing areas. There are also two baseball fields on site used by the Homewood Baseball League during the summer.
Lion's Club Pool, 1041 Ridge Rd ☎ +1 708 799-2223. Open M-F 12:30pm-5pm & 7-8:15pm, Sa-Su 12:30pm-8pm. Lion's Club Pool features a large main pool with sandy beach area for volleyball and relaxation, a water slide, a concession stand, and many sunbathing areas. Summer season passes for non-residents are $360 per family, $208 per adult, and $200 per child. Resident prices are half the non-resident price, except for resident senior season passes, which are $50.
Flossmoor Train Station Restaurant and Brewery, 1035 Sterling Ave ☎ +1 708 957-BREW. Open Su-Th 11:30am-9:30pm , F-Sa 11:30am-10:30pm. Pub open until later, (drinks only). Looking for good American food, a quaint atmosphere, and some damn good beers? Then hop off the Metra train at Flossmoor and head on over to the Station Brewery. The selection of beers includes classics, imports, Midwestern favorites, and a few brewed in the station itself. Entrees range from $10-$30, and you can enjoy the company of others, some new friends at the bar, or sit back and watch a sports game on one of many high-def TV's. The station also features a coffee shop that's open throughout most of the day, and the website features the useful "Flossmoor Beer Blog."
Eat Rice, 18065 Dixie Hwy ☎ +1 708 798-8838. Open 11-10 on Monday through Thursday, 11-10:30 on Friday and Saturday, 12-10 on Sunday. Eat Rice combines the price and speed of a fast-food Chinese food restaurant, with the quality, quiet, authenticity, and decor of a five-star Chinese bistro. With the exception of carry-out party trays, you won't find a single dish over $20.
Aurelio's Pizzeria, 18162 Harwood Ave ☎ +1 708 798-8050. Open 11:30-9:30 on Monday through Thursday, 11:30-10:30 on Friday and Saturday, 11:30-9 on Sunday. There are 43 Aurelio's across the country in six different states, but the original still remains the top restaurant in the Homewood-Flossmoor area. Deep dish, thin crust, stuffed, calzones, strombolis, any type of pizza you want, and Aurelio's has the best without having to go to downtown Chicago. If there's one word to describe Aurelio's, it's family-friendly. Head on over with your kids, your significant other, hell, even your mistress, and grab yourself a slice.

Lassen's Tap Bar & Grill, 2131 W. 183rd St ☎ +1 708 957-2220. Recently remodeled and reopened, Lassen's features a wide variety of ales and alcohols, and is a great place to enjoy a Chicago sports game, eat a good meal, and hang out with friends.
There are no hotels in Flossmoor, and the only one in Homewood, the Homewood Hotel, has received nothing but bad reviews. You would want to go to Matteson, just south of Homewood-Flossmoor. To get there from Homewood-Flossmoor, take Governors Hwy. until Lincoln Hwy. Turn right on Lincoln Hwy.

Homewood/Flossmoor is a very unsafe, high crime area. While not quite as dangerous as Harvey or Ford Heights, it is still a very dangerous, high crime town. Travel during the day needs to be done with extreme caution, and travel at night should be completely avoided.
