Heaton Park in North Manchester, UK is the largest municipal park in Britain. It can be reached from Manchester city centre on the Bury line of the Metrolink light rail system (Heaton Park Station) or by bus. Some bus services take you to the eastern side of the park near the golf course. The station is on the western side in Prestwich. The park is popular with local people and visitors and provides a breath of fresh air, just 10 minutes from the busy city centre. It offers rolling parkland, wooded areas and a former stately home, Heaton Hall, which is open to visitors in the summer months.
