Hamelin (German: Hameln) is a town in Lower Saxony, south west of Hanover. It is the scene of the Pied Piper story - about the man who expelled rats from the town by playing the pipe. It is a tourist attraction for 2.5-3.5 Million visitors every year and easy to reach from Hannover by S-bahn, train.
