Green Heart

The Green Heart [1] (Dutch: Groene Hart) is a green rural region in the middle of the Randstad conurbation. This article only deals with the Green Heart in South Holland. A wider interpretation could also include some areas in western Utrecht and southern North Holland.
The flat polders and canals can be explored by hiking or cycling.

- Kaag — known for the artificial Kaag Lakes

- Nieuwkoop — known for the Nieuwkoop Lakes, popular for water sports
- Oudewater — famous for its witch weighing house, where they issue certificates proving people aren't witches.
