Glenbrittle

Glenbrittle is a hamlet on Skye. It is most useful as a base for walking and climbing the Black Cuillin, including the famous Inaccessible Pinnacle. Watch out for the midges!

One bus a day (except Sundays) in summer runs to and from Portree.

The nearest refreshment facilities are in Carbost at the Old Inn. 9 miles north.

  • Glenbrittle Youth Hostel 01478 640278 [1]. Open in summer, this is a basic hostel, but with good cooking facilities, popular with walkers and climbers.
  • Campsite 01478 640404. Basic facilities at the end of the road, but with a small shop.
