Gedu

Gedu is a town in Chhukha district. Originally developed to accommodate people working on the local hydroelectric plant, the town is now home to a small college. Clinging to the site of a hill, Gedu is best viewed from a distance at night when its harsh and uninspired architecture is softened by a ring of street lights. Visitors are unlikely to linger in Gedu, but as the largest center of population between Phuentsholing and Thimphu/Paro, it serves as a convenient place to to take refreshment.
