One of the world's most consistent left-hand surfing reefbreaks, Grajagan was first surfed in 1972. A few years later a rickety bamboo treehouse was built on the beach bordering this remote National Park on Java's south-east tip. These days there are 3 basic surfcamps between the wild jungle and kilometre-long coral reef. Permission to stay at G-Land must be obtained from the park rangers in advance, which is handled by the surf camp management. Contact details of the camps are listed in the Indo Surf and Lingoguidebook
