Fremont Street is a pedestrian mall and attraction in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. Once the place to be when gambling in Las Vegas, this once famous part of town has evolved into a tourist attraction with the installment of the Fremont Street Experience in 1995, a 1,500 foot long canopy that displays breathtaking light shows late in the evening. There is no charge to visit Fremont Street.

Fremont Street is located in downtown Las Vegas to the north of the popular Las Vegas Strip. Its address is 425 Fremont Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101. The attraction is only accessible to by walking; vehicular traffic is no longer permitted on Fremont Street.

In terms of Fremont Street itself, there is not much to see except for the thousands of colorful, dazzling and nostalgic neon lights and signs. As for the Fremont Street Experience, a spectacular light and sound show, known as Viva Vision, is presented with various themes throughout an evening that are projected on the nine-story high canopy and each graphic travels along the length of the canopy. The shows are free and should not be missed when visiting Fremont Street at night.

You can do here what you can do virtually all across the Las Vegas region: gamble and play at the slots. Famous casinos like the Fremont, Golden Nugget and Las Vegas Club are all here, so feel free to shell out a bet and try to win it all back. Of course, you can also shop here for things like souvenirs or you may just enjoy a nighttime stroll past all the bright lights and signs.

Almost all of the hotels and casinos on Fremont Street have some place to eat, whether it's a place to grab a cheap meal of a hamburger and fries to a lavish establishment that will serve you an extraordinary feast to be remembered. And, of course, as anywhere in Las Vegas, bars can be found along Fremont Street for you alcohol fix.
