Fordingbridge is a small town in the New Forest.
The best way to get to Fordingbridge is via the A338 which passes by it on its way from Bournemouth to its south to Salisbury to its north.
One there, it is small enough only to need to walk around it.
As Fordingbridge is in the New Forest national park, there are a lot of walks in the area. There is also a museum about the history of the town, and a nice park and war memorial garden on the edge of the River Avon. On the highstreet there is a tourist information centre which has more information on this.
Fordingbridge is also not far from the large coastal town of Bournemouth to the south, and the city of Salisbury to the north. Both are only about a 25 minute drive from Fordinbridge.
As Fordingbridge is not very big, there are not very many shops. There is one main highstreet with two supermarkets (a co-op and a tesco express). There are also a couple of book shops with reasonable choice, and other small food shops and bits and bobs stores. There is a post-office at the bottom end of the street. Fordingbridge also has a bike shop and a small but good quality butchers.
Fordingbridge has a few pubs such as 'The Ship Inn', and 'The Crown', and 'The Augustus John' up in the Ashford area. There is also a pizza and kebab take away shop 'Kebab House'.
There aren't really any hotels in Fordingbridge, but 'The Crown' pub does have a few guestrooms above it.
Fordingbridge doesn't really have bars, but drinks can be bought from the aforementioned pubs. Of course, the supermarkets also sell all kinds of drinks.
