Ford

Ford is a village in Northumberland. perhaps because it sounds like a river crossing, it is often referred to as Ford Village and it shares a website with the neighbouring village of Etal. Get in B6352 from Berwick-upon-Tweed or B6353 from the A1 a bit further south. Get around See Lady Waterford Art Gallery in what was once the village school. Lady Louisa Waterford, who seems to have been ahead of her later 19th century times in her attitudes, did a lot of painting locally, getting in local residents as models for biblical works.
